Dear Windsor-Essex,
This post is not an easy one for us to write…
Unfortunately, we will be leaving our Walker Rd establishment at the end of December. The last 2.5 years has thrown immense challenges every business owners way. The pandemic was a huge hurdle in itself; now with facing material shortages, material price increases, increased energy costs, huge decrease in sales, and much more… we have struggled to maintain our brick and mortar store. It has been very difficult not only on us, but to all local small businesses as you’ve heard recently. We think transparency is important with our community. Our local shops bring charm to our city, and without them the city is less vibrant. Small businesses will always give you 110% in everything they do.
We love what we do and we want to still be a piece in this great community. This is why we’ve come to the extremely hard decision to close our store front transitioning into a private commercial kitchen in order to continue doing what we love. This DOES NOT mean that we will be completely closing our business! With the majority of our business coming through our website, online orders and emails, it seems to make good business sense to operate without all the extra expenses at this time. To our wonderful customers that love to come into the store to pick out your treats, they will be available on our website but we will sadly miss your familiar faces. We’ve enjoyed having those little chats as well as meeting new friendly faces.
As a reminder, Windsor Cake Emporium’s Pre-Orders are closing on Monday, December 19th. They can be made by ordering on our website, phone or in person. We have limited scheduling between December 27th and the 30th.

** There will be pre-made cakes available online – these will be delivered.
✨Tuesday, December 27th, LAST DAY OPEN TO PUBLIC - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm✨
Any orders previously made for December 28th thru to the 30th will be delivered.
OUR WEBSITES will be down as of December 30th - January 4th and no physical orders will be accepted during this transition time.
For our customers who have orders for showers, weddings and special events the first few weeks in January, we will be in touch shortly and we will be back to work by January 4th to fulfill our obligations to you.
We thank you for your love and support and we’re excited to transition that love and support into a fresh start for the New Year.
