This is it. We've baked as much as we can possibly bake, and I found something exciting while cleaning out the cupboards. Despite finding long lost copies of our cookbook and using up every single ounce of sugar and butter in the shop, we'll still probably sell out pretty early. There will be lots of kitchen supplies on our garage sale table, (which we will keep refilling through the day) and we've got lots of coffee to make, but if you've only got eyes for cake you'd better get here early.

If you miss out on snacks and don't get to buy anything we're going to ask you one last favour before we go. Take the money you were going to spend here and donate it to any one of the organizations that are helping out with the wildfires. You can donate to whichever area in need that is closest to you heart, alot of your neighbours around Canada and elsewhere in the world are having a rough go right now. But for our closest neighbours, the governments of Canada and NWT are matching all donations made to the United Way.

I'm still baking as much as I can each day, but life is getting interesting. We were unfortunately not able to restock our normal cake boxes so you're all getting the big guys when you come in. You are allowed to bring us Tupperware if you don't want a giant box.

It's the bakery's last week ever. If you haven't placed an order yet, you've officially missed the boat. We are no longer accepting orders. I will be making things to fill the display each day, but you'll just have to wander in and hope the dessert gods smile on you to get what you want.

Still here making whatever random recipes I can find stuff for at the grocery store. Today we've got pumpkin cupcakes and some peanut butter chocolate cake.

I found three cans of pumpkin, one I used for the cupcakes. Two remain. My plan is to make pumpkin pie this Thursday. There will be six available. Yes they freeze fine (the bottom crust gets a little soggy if that's a deal breaker for you) but you should call now if you want us to hide one for you.

Mousse cake fans, the chocolate supplies are running low. We may cut you off of orders soon.

Stay tuned for whatever random stuff I make next to try and fill the display for the last two weeks.

Vanilla cupcake fans, the cupcake gods have smiled upon you! One of my big orders has cancelled. So we have vanilla cupcakes today and you can even order some if you want them next week.

Suprise carrot cake!

Don't forget that there's a limited time left before we close. Also most of the desserts freeze very well and we're happy to wrap things up for you. Just don't forget to order ahead. When we run out of supplies we're out forever.

Three more cupcake/sticky bun Fridays are left after today. If you plan on stocking up your freezer please call so we can make sure we don't disappoint you.

I know the vanilla cupcake fans are getting a bit fed up with us cause I won't let you special order any, but then I say keep an eye out on the social media cause I might surprise you with them. I understand that this seems like an insane answer, so I am going to give you the behind scenes explanation. We use a specific white chocolate in our vanilla frosting, it takes a few weeks to order in, so it doesn't make any sense to order any now. I have had a few big, vanilla frosting related orders in the books for a while and I have enough chocolate for them plus two more batches. I know right now you're thinking "So I can order two batches worth of stuff!" However, just like in normal life, in bakery life you should never assume everything will magically go right. We always prepare for mistakes and unfortunate surprises, so I am hording my white chocolate untill I've delivered on the promises I've already made.

Long story short: no, you can't order any vanilla frosting stuff, but if the stars shine on us, I might surprise you with some. It makes sense, trust me.

Ladies and gentlemen of the internet. We said we'd let you know an official closing date as soon as we knew one, and we've finally figured out what we're doing. Our last official day will be August 18th. We're going to be getting a little spontaneous with the menu as we plan out remaining supplies and revisiting popular treats, so we're going to ask for your understanding when you call in for orders.
