I was commissioned to create a $400 cake for the icing artist. On delivery day, while carrying it up the stairs, I tripped and dropped it.
I immediately contacted Laurie to explain what had happened. I was devastated—after working on the cake for four days at 12 hours a day, it was all over my stairs, carpet, and me.
I offered a full refund, but she insisted otherwise and paid an additional $200 for me to remake it. I included many photos and a video of the process ,this version took five days to complete.
In my 12 years as a cake decorator, I have had two cakes collapse, but I had never dropped one before (though I came close a few times).
I truly enjoy creating these types of cakes, but I clearly underestimated the weight ! Check out the video❤️

Cigar box cake design . The box is Ferrero Roche cake., the ci**rs are made of fondant with gelatine wrap on each cigar. The lighter , ashtray and cigar cutter are made out of modelling chocolate.

I was asked to make this kiwi AI cake, how did I do🫣
It was not easy , the front all sculpted out of modelling chocolate, the kiwi skin all piped with royal icing . Flavour is hummingbird cake
Southern cake : vanilla base with banana , pine apple , pecans cinnamon. Coffee butter cream.
