K- is for... not Kali, though she got to enjoy this Raspberry Mango Letter Cake at a friend's party. Love this trend! Mango curd was a new thing for me too, in the filling and the macarons. Another curd flavour I could just eat like pudding 😁

Becoming a new regular feature. Piña Colada cake 🍍🥥. I've decided swiss meringue buttercream is the only way to go, so silky smooth, kinda like sunscreen🤔😄. Just needs a tiny umbrella!

It's been a minute since my last cake! Glad to be able to get back in the kitchen to celebrate my good friend.
It was requested that the cake not be too sweet, so it got boozy and fruity instead. I also discovered swiss meringue buttercream is a dream to work with.

Happy Halloween! Celebrating with Maple Glazed Pumpkin Spice doughnuts and Double Chocolate Chip cookies the kids decorated with eyeballs. Be safe out there tonight!

Vanilla Raspberry Cake.
Its been a while since I dusted off my macaron pans, but I guess making them is like riding a bike 🙂. Super pleased with how they turned out first go. Love adding gold accent to pink.

Happiest of Birthdays to my friend/workmate/someone who inspires me every day and always goes the extra mile for everyone around her .cook.9693 !!
She asked me for a simple chocolate cake, so of course I made her a... Chocolate sour cream cake with peanut butter cream cheese icing. Layered with crushed peanut butter cups and caramel. Topped with chocolate ganache, peanut butter cups, KitKat (her favourite) and caramel.

Happy Easter everyone!! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and enjoying the sun! It's been a carrot cake-apalooza around here... seems to be the cake of choice for the Easter Bunny ;) When it comes to any left over carrot cake (from cut-offs) and cream cheese icing, there is no wasting! So I made some parfaits and threw them in the freezer. @ Wellesley, Ontario

Do you know what's better than Cream Cheese Icing? Lemon Cream Cheese Icing. I wish my younger self appreciated lemon more. I turned down a lot of desserts because of it. NEVER AGAIN! haha! What about you? What was your favourite as a kid vs now?

My second attempt at a mirror glaze/first attempt making black buttercream. I'm really pleased with how it all turned out, though not easy to get a decent picture of the dark colours (note to self: don't be lazy and use better camera next time!). Shout out to Mr.Kali's Cakes for coming up with the lighting "constellation" effect! @ Wellesley, Ontario

Sweet, tangy, bright lemon blueberry layer cake. Made this last minute for a Lunar New Year celebration. Doesn't scream Year of the Ox, but reminds me that spring is just around the corner! @ Wellesley, Ontario
