HEY, AMICI! WE GOT SOME GOOD NEWS!
We’ve got a few changes coming to DOUGH & DESIGN, so let’s get right to it!
1. OUT WITH THE DETROITS, IN WITH THE SICILIANS!
Starting TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20, we’ll be selling SICILIAN PIZZA BY THE SLICE instead of Detroit slices!
That’s right, folks! Out with the Detroit, in with the Sicilian!
2. WHAT ABOUT THE DETROIT PIZZAS?
RELAX, PAISANS! THEY’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!
They’re just going to be available BY WHOLE PIZZA PREORDER ONLY, with a limit of 20 PIZZAS PER DAY!
20 A DAY? YOU HEARD ME RIGHT, GOOMBAS AND GOOMBAS!
20. NOT 21. NOT 25. NOT 40 BECAUSE WE AIN’T PULLING PIZZA OUT OF THE SKY JUST BECAUSE UNCLE TONY DECIDED TO BRING THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD OUT! 🍕
Why? Because quality matters, those specialty cheeses around the edges cost a whole lot more than standard mozzarella, and we’re not throwing expensive ingredients in the garbage every few hours because THE HEALTH BOARD REQUIRES US TO!
SO, WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DETROIT AND SICILIAN PIZZA?
DETROIT-STYLE typically has mozzarella on top, with specialty cheese—usually brick cheese—around the edges. That cheese melts down the sides of the pan and bonds to the dough crust, creating that signature CRISPY, GOLDEN CHEESE CRUST!
SICILIAN-STYLE is also thick, airy, and crispy on the bottom, but here’s the big difference: IT’S A BREAD CRUST, NOT A CHEESE CRUST! It’s more like a traditional pizza, usually with one type of cheese on top, rather than the extra specialty cheese around the edges.
ONE’S GOT THE CRISPY, GOLDEN CHEESE CRUST; THE OTHER’S GOT THE THICK, AIRY BREAD CRUST! 🍕
And listen, paisans! ORDER AHEAD! You can preorder days in advance, even 10 days ahead if you want. Don’t call at 6 p.m. expecting us to perform a miracle!

3. OUT WITH THE CHICKEN BITES, IN WITH THE WINGS!
That’s right! Over the next week or two, we’re replacing our chicken bites with OVEN-BAKED CHICKEN WINGS! 🍗
What sauces will be available? We’ll let you know soon!
And before you ask, “Baked wings?!”

4. SOUP’S ON! SON OF A GABAGOOL, IT’S GETTING COLD OUT THERE!
With the Niagara weather getting colder, we’re adding three hearty favourites:
🥕 VEGETABLE SOUP
🍜 CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP
🌶️ CHILI
Because when your nose hairs freeze the second you inhale outdoors, you’re gonna want to come in for a nice, warm bowl of something! 🥶
