Floral Friday wins …. Asiatic lily made in cold porcelain clay . A medium I’m getting more and more comfortable to work with .
Cultivation of these originated in Japan . Unlike other lilies , these are unscented and are smaller , with distinct star shaped blooms with or without subtle speckling in the center . Hope you like my handmade version .

Exploring making different varieties of lilies . This time made the beautiful and delicate “ Casablanca Lily “ in cold porcelain clay ( a non edible medium). Their white petals embody purity and grace and make them ideal for weddings , anniversaries , or new beginnings. Casa Blanca - literally means a white House in spanish ,symbolizing everlasting love and happiness combined with simplicity and elegance much like this beautiful flower .

Went for a tropical flower this time ,the beautiful n delicate Hibiscus in gumpaste . This dainty flower in nature blooms only for a day - symbolizing the beauty of living in the moment and embracing the impermanence of life . This flower is often used for both medicinal purposes and as an emblem of tropical beauty in garlands , ceremonies and daily life .

Hibiscus flowers come in a variety of colors from , red , yellow , white , to peach and pink . Here I have made in red n yellow inspired by ones I saw in nature . Hope you like them . 🌺 s

Would you believe me if I told you that these cherry blossoms are entirely hand made from edible paste ????

In actual terms - the cherry blossom season includes blossoms of different varieties such as apple , peach , plum , double and single cherry etc . Here I have made 3 variations - the single flowers are cherry blossoms , whereas the double one is plum blossom . These delicate little flowers are a joy to see n make and I have been very blessed to see so many of them in nature , had to but of-course make them . I will share more photos of other varieties in the coming posts . So keep a look out .😀☺️.

New year , new beginnings, and with that in mind , I decided to experiment with another medium to make flowers - an inedible medium this time known as cold porcelain clay . The flowers made from this medium are flexible , can handle humidity and don’t break - like sugar flowers do . Nonetheless I will still continue to make sugar flowers but happy for now to experiment with different mediums to express my creativity.
