👑 From it's humble beginnings around nomad campfires, börek became the centre of the meal for Sultans and heads of state at the famous, sprawling Topkapi Palace (the primary residence and centre of administration of Ottoman sultans for over 400 years).

👉 Lahmacun (lah-mah-DJOON), a flatbread similar to pizza, served with seasoned minced beef as a topping accompanied by fresh veggies
👉 Simit, a sesame-covered twisted bagel, a staple of Turkish mornings
👉 Kol Börek, a savoury pastry stuffed with seasoned beef
👉 Poğaça, a bread roll stuffed with savoury ingredients and brushed with egg yolk
