Feature: 𝗥𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸 | Another Room

There is a quiet power in what is left out.

Turbo Labs is incredibly proud to feature our very own Rakesh Malik () as part of the Salon des Refusés: Another Room exhibition at Gallery 881.

Malik’s work is a masterclass in the philosophy of negative space. By isolating the vast, ethereal landscapes of British Columbia, he invites the viewer to breathe within the frame. His lens transforms the rugged PNW wilderness into minimalist, captivating scenes that challenge us to find beauty in the stillness and depth in the void.

Through his unique perspective, the "empty" space becomes a character itself—one that speaks of scale, solitude, and the raw texture of the West Coast.

The exhibition runs through April 30, 2026.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see these magnificent works in person and experience a different way of seeing our home.

The energy at the BCAMA x POCAM "Visible and Vocal" panel this past Friday was a necessary reminder of the power held within representation and shared narrative. The atmosphere at the Rework HQ in Mount Pleasant was electric!
As a strategic cinematic studio, Turbo Labs is rooted in the belief that storytelling is the most effective tool for building sustainable systems and authentic brand value.

Attending as non-members, we were specifically drawn to the dialogue surrounding DEI in the workplace and the concrete strategies discussed for amplifying the voices of People of Colour within the creative industry. The insights shared by moderator Matthew Tsang and panelists Yogi Omar and Stephanie Redivo provided a profound look at the intersection of leadership and equity.

For our team, many of whom identify as POC, these conversations are more than industry trends—they are the core of how we approach our work and our community. We are constantly looking to expand our network and collaborate with those who value cinematic excellence and social progress in equal measure.

Looking forward to the next event! Hope to see you there! Stop and say hi!
