It's been super quiet around here and I wanted to hop on here to wish you all a Happy holiday season☺️! Our bakery was always so busy leading up to Christmas and it feels a little sad not baking shortbread cookies after 11 years of doing so. I have been waiting for my passion to bake to return and I can say that it's very slowly coming back🥲. I was hoping to do something with frozen cookie dough next year but prices really need to stabilize and the sugar strike to be over for me to seriously consider it. Things are still extremely difficult for small businesses so please support them if you can. Happy holidays everyone 🧑🏻‍🎄🎄!

Two more days before we hand our keys back to our landlord 🥹. Looking back I honestly had no clue what I was doing when we opened the bakery. I naively thought if I build it they will come. I burnt the first batch of pies. I remember the day when we only made $20 and wondered if my business could be sustainable. I never managed anything or anyone and never worked as a baker. What I did have was passion, determination and support. I didn't want to take out any loans so our start up capital was non-existent. Year after year tho our tiny business grew and I taught myself that I was so much more capable than I ever thought I could be. I pulled answers out of thin air and made up a lot of stuff along the way. Thank you to my incredible husband who believed in me and my dream and always did his best to keep everyone happy. We had so many ups and so many downs I could probably write a short story 🙃. I am doing my best to hold on to the good memories and stay in touch with our favorite people. I really struggled the last few years and just wasn't having fun anymore and I knew I had to figure out an exit strategy. The future is bright my friends 😎. Hope your journey is as fun and rewarding as mine .ca!

It’s a wrap folks! More than a few tears were shed today as we said goodbye to some of the best customers we could hope for. I knew small business wasn’t for the faint of heart but I was not prepared for the rollercoaster it has been for the last 11 years. We fought hard to keep going even though I was ready to call it quits in 2018, and survived so many setbacks and challenges. 😳 You never really know hard work until you have been self employed 😂. I truly have the best team a girl could wish for including a husband that would move heaven and earth to help me follow my dreams. Thank you doesn’t seem sufficient so just know I love you all from the bottom if my heart. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished and look forward to the next chapter as we navigate what is next for our brand. My personal IG is if you want to stay connected 🥰. This week is your last chance to get your hands on Vancouver's best all butter shortbread. We have been working hard to restock all five flavors as these cookies have been flying off the shelves especially since we announced our imminent closure. We are open this week Thursday - Saturday for last minute gifts and stocking stuffers for everyone on your nice list.

We are excited to announce that .ca will be moving into our bakery early next year and will be able to continue providing delicious treats to the neighbourhood. (I can’t wait to try your ube flan cake Diana!) We are sure you guys will show her the same love you showed us over the last 6 years.

That’s it folks. We have reached our limit for the rest of the year and for the remaining days of our little bakery. Thank you to those who placed their orders early(super early). Sorry to those I have disappointed. We will have pies and slices that are allocated for walk-in customers (first come, first serve, not available for pre-order). Come early!
