Both Rose and her shortbread hail from Scotland, a country rich in history and tradition. Among the most famous Scottish practices is the baking of shortbread, a sumptuous, butter-filled treat originally made only for royalty. Rose and her family moved to Canada and kept their Scottish heritage alive by baking authentic shortbread for friends and family. Their secret recipe turns simple ingredient

Rose still makes every piece of shortbread herself; from checking the consistency of the dough to hand-pressing it into the trays, each batch follows the same recipe that has been passed down through her family for generations. It’s a ritual, but one that’s well-accustomed to change; Rose is always dreaming up innovative new forms and flavours for her shortbread.

In this summer tea party pairing we join forces with our friends across the Rockies The Tea Wagon for a Tearrific pairing.

We went to the Wild West to find some wild tea for this pairing, and we found some. Terrific teas are bold and brilliant — the perfect match for our shortbread.
