Bonchaz Bakery has an immediate opening for a Bread Baker. Shifts are primarily in the afternoon, 12pm ~ 10pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and preparing bakery ingredients
- Mixing, dividing, proofing, and baking breads
- Slicing and packaging baked goods
- Other food prep including pastas, salads, & soups
- Maintaining a clean work environment
- Assisting with dishwashing and general cleaning
Please note that we are an INDUSTRIAL BREAD bakery. In other words, there is a lot of REPETITION in this job. If your passion is in pastries, cake decorating, or artisan breads, this may not be a good fit for you, sorry!
You must:
- speak and write fluent English
- available for 8 hour shifts, 5 times a week, between 12pm - 10pm
- have a strong interest in a career in baking
- be able to multitask and work under pressure
- have a customer first mentality and a positive can-do attitude
- have excellent communication, initiative, and work ethics
- be adventurous, not afraid to learn new things and take on new challenges
- have and maintain a valid BC Foodsafe Level 1 Certificate or be willing to earn one
- have read and understood this job posting in detail.
- 1 year baking experience required, either commercially, from school, or extensive home baking experience
