We are so lucky here in Hasting and Northumberland Country to have one beautiful Autumn day after another! Middle of September is here already with October around the corner, The Codrington Farmers Market is showing all the colors of fall! But it won't last long, so come out on Sunday 10 a.m - 1 p.m until November 2 (fantastic annual Christmas Market) and support local food producers, food makers and artisans before the season ends.

Finally, after sometime of R&D on the sourdough HandPies, we welcome Cherry filled sourdough HandPies alongside our Apple Pear!

Hello Everyone! I’m sorry for not posting more often, but this season I did things a bit different at the shop leaving little time to take photos and make posts.

Thankfully one thing that didn’t change is my invitation to the autumn event of the year .house.decor!

Thanks very much to Charity Hannigan for the invitation, and all the terrific crew who put together this classic, beautiful fall event!

Happy Thursday!

Another sourdough donut photo! I had my doubts thinking these baked beauties would be too heavy and stodgy, but not so!

I did a bit more r & d and modified the batter with longer overnight fermentation and several hours to proof at room temp.

The best advice I ever received was from a sourdough bakery owner in California who said, “You want to be a better baker? Just keep baking!”

Happy Friday!

Doing some R & D for the upcoming Market season. These are baked sourdough donuts! The texture is light and so is the flavor.

Rolled in sugar and cinnamon. These do make a nice low cal treat with coffee or tea.

Happy Thursday!

Spring has sprung after some very nasty spring storms. The bread shop will be baking up Spiced Buns through the month of April so come on in and pick up a pack while they last!

Warm spices, currents, sultanas, and raisins, glazed with apricot jam make a delicious bun and beautiful addition to your Easter table.
