I spent a wonderful Easter Sunday afternoon painting chocolate at . I'm quite proud of my masterpiece 😊
Whether going solo, or hanging with friends, this was a lovely, engaging, yet relaxing activity and I highly recommend it. No you don't have to be a master baker, or chocolatier. That's what made it special to me. It was fun for everyone 😊❤️xo

I'm quite late posting this one. Back in September 2025, I was tasked with creating a cake to honour the Carpenter's Union Local 27 's retiring president Chris Campbell at his retirement brunch. I thought what better way to do that than with a carpenter's toolbox cake. Being a part-time carpenter myself, I'm quite proud of this one 😊
The cake itself was a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and finished in a white chocolate ganache. The toolbox panels are fondant. The "tools" are all made with a fondant/gum paste mixture. The "sawdust" is toasted shredded coconut.

A few weeks ago, I took part in the annual Icing Inspirations Cake Competition. I am happy to share that I placed first in my division! It was an unexpected but very welcome surprise! 😊🥰🥰
The theme for this one was "When Country Meets City" and let me tell you this had me stumped for the longest while. Eventually I remembered the children's tale of The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse and decided to so something based on that. In my cake, the poor Town Mouse is just so out of his element when he comes to visit the Country Mouse dressed up in his fancy suit, that even a simple ant frightens the life out of him causing his top hat to fall to the ground 😂.
