Hi, I'm Leah!
If you haven’t guessed already, I’m the baker behind this operation. Continue reading if you’re interested in hearing my story of how these cookies came to life!
I’ve always had a thing for baking and have happy memories of making cookies at home that go back to my preschool days. My siblings and I were always in the kitchen mixing up batter, tasting the dough and waiting impatiently for the cookies to cool on the rack. As you might have guessed, cookies never lasted long in my house so baking was a weekly affair. Once at school, I discovered that homemade chocolate chip cookies in a packed lunch were the envy of my friends and could be traded for goodies we didn’t get at home. Later on, I moved away to university with my clothes, ikea desk and my beloved cookie sheets and mixing bowls. No matter how busy school got, it made me happy to bake up a fresh batch of cookies with my housemates and friends.
I’m a foodie at heart and love to experiment to perfect my recipes to achieve the ultimate chewy cookie. Variety keeps things interesting so while Chocolate Chip may be the all time favorite, who’s to say you can’t change it up a bit with Skor, M&Ms or Resse’s Pieces? For added pizzazz, I’ve also created a special Funfetti option with a trio of chocolate and sprinkles that has been a big hit for kids’ birthdays. And sometimes, there are times when I feel a bit of nostalgia and that’s why I have a soft spot for good old classics like oatmeal raisin (my grandfather’s favourite!), peanut butter and molasses crinkle.
