Hey everyone,

I’m so excited to invite you to The Winter Giveback, a community fundraiser presented by Legacy Hires x Beneby’s Bakery in support of the SickKids Foundation.

It’s happening on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, from 1 PM to 6 PM at OBJX Studio (100 Symes Rd Unit 200A, Toronto). There will be food, music, local vendors, and lots of ways to give back this holiday season.

You can support in two ways:
🎁 Bring a donation (new toys, books, toiletries, or gift cards) to the event
💙 Donate directly online through our official SickKids fundraiser page:

If you donate directly through the SickKids fundraiser link, you will automatically receive a tax receipt for any donation of $20 or more.
If you would like to donate under $20, you can still contribute at the event in person, or online using the same link. Every bit counts.

Welcome! My name is Shalah Lily Victoria Beneby. The proud founder and owner of Beneby’s Bakery. I am the only girl and last of 3 siblings, born in Toronto, Canada and raised in the Bahamas🇨🇦🇧🇸. I have lived in Toronto now for 13 years!!
Beneby’s Bakery came about as just a mere ~thought~ sitting in my dorm at University in 2019, and I asked myself “What Can I Do?”🤔
It was a STRETCH one might’ve said at the time… and to be quite honest, I never had the intention or dream of growing up to start a baking business. I had no prior baking skills or experience. I just watched and helped my family members in the kitchen from time to time.
My lineage, My namesakes, Lily and Victoria (grandmothers on both parents' sides) had paved the way in their own time. My mother’s mom Lily was well-known for making Jamaican beef patties, and my father’s mom Victoria was well-known in the Bahamas for her lunch room.
Needless to say, I began to walk down a path that really wasn’t a stretch… I just needed to find my own way.
My message to you today is you can start from anywhere. The 🔑 is to take moments of self-reflection. Find YOUR niche. It can be something so small or simplistic but it is for you. It doesn’t matter if someone else is doing it. Do it, and do it YOUR WAY. It is okay to make mistakes along the way, grow and learn from them! The past 4 years have not been a bed of roses. It’s been met with many disappointments and challenges, yet enlightening and successful! I am excited about what the future holds for Beneby’s Bakery.
