Big News! This will be the last week for Emily Rose. I’m so proud to say that the cafe has been a neighbourhood staple since we opened our doors 5 years ago, and although our shop remains busy and vibrant, there have been some amazing changes in my personal life and I’ve decided to focus on family life for the next little while ❤️
This decision did not come lightly, but I am so excited for what’s to come. We got our keys to this little corner shop in July 2019; went through hurdles to open up; a pandemic, restrictions of all sorts, but found a way to welcome people in, and our cafe slowly starting growing; and that is because of you all 🌈 We’ve had tremendous support since day one, and I can honestly say that’s what keeps us small business owners going; it’s the community, the customers, the friends we’ve made along the way. Who knew that such a small space would have such a huge impact on my life, I am truly grateful for everyone who has come in to grab a drink, a pastry or simply stopped by to say hello. Those quick morning conversations while ordering coffee add up to really getting to know a persons story, those little moments mean so much ✨ We’ve seen babies grow, met all the dogs in the hood, hosted dozens of pop-ups and workshops and have shared our space and shelves with other local artists and businesses 🍵📚 This all would not have been possible on my own. I have been surrounded by the most amazing staff who have truly given Emily Rose that welcoming feeling, and I think that’s what I will miss the most. Talking about movies, series, reality tv or music during the work day make it so fun. But most importantly we have supported each other, we created a work space where we all feel comfortable and can move to our own rhythm and through all my work experience I know that doesn’t come easy 💗
I could go on and on about how much I have loved this experience and opportunity to pursue one of my biggest dreams. But for now, a big THANK YOU!
Our last day is Oct 30th, but the doors are not closing! Something special is coming to this beloved corner, familiar faces and fun changes, stay tuned! Xoxo Alessia

We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting a summer market!

Join us this Tuesday August 19th from 5-9pm for an evening of family friendly fun at Emily Rose ☕️

This event will feature:

✨ Local artisans selling prints, jewelry, wearables, accessories, and other goodies!

✨ Yummy handmade treats and drinks!

✨ A FREE tye dye workshop!

✨ Music by dj friends .shiner and .ab

And much more!

Bring your own item to tye dye (100% cotton works best) or bring a food donation to trade for a shirt! We will also accept monetary donations if that’s all you’ve got! All ages are welcome! ☺️

Proceeds from snacks and tye dye will be donated to our friends (check out their page for tips on what donations they’re looking for!) 💕

Did you know we have a book club? 📚 has been hosting them for a year now! What started as a very well curated selection of books on our shelves has now turned into a monthly community gathering. This month’s pick is The Art of Vanishing, and what’s more exciting is the Lynne will be joining the gathering on April 9th at 7:30 pm at Paupers’ Pub.
So whether you belong to the club or want to see what it’s all about, feel free to join this extra special session! You can pick up a copy of the book from our shop or your local library ☺️

Emily rose turns 4!

Four years of sharing our space with you. it feels tremendously special to have a little place in the neighborhood that now feels like home 🏡
For some it’s a place to grab a quick drink and treat (made with sooo much love) for others a space to hang and meet up with friends. Sometimes it’s a place to get work done, at other times a spot to come chat with your favorite barista (who’s probably now your friend 🥹) Whether you’ve stopped by once, a handful of times or if we’re now part of your daily routine we are so so grateful to have you 💗

On a personal note I am forever thankful to our amazing team. Jasmine, Laura, Hannah, Jessi & Kye 👯‍♂️ My husband and I welcomed our baby girl into the world 6 months ago and I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to be home with her while the cafe keeps its doors open. It speaks volumes of the care and great energy that each of them bring to the space. The first thing customers tell me each time I pop in is how great and welcoming our staff is and it truly makes me feel so lucky and grateful.

we are looking for a part-time baker/counter service to join our team. 20-24 hours a week with availability on weekends. 🧁
We do homestyle scratch baking and take lots of pride in our offerings. Looking for someone who could learn and love our classic recipes as much as we do and bring some new offerings to the shop.
Lots of taste testing involved 😋
This is a front facing position, duties include prepping and baking for the day ahead and working counter service alongside our baristas during the morning rush ☕️

We’re offfering $19/hour plus gratuities. Extended health and dental benefits after 3 months. Flexible hours and great work environment.

Experience in coffee is a great asset. Must be comfortable with front facing customer service, work well independently and in a team. 👯‍♂️👯‍♂️ We all share daily tasks and responsabities which has created a very comfortable and safe workspace.

3 years since we opened our doors 🎉 it’s been such a fun and unexpected adventure. I remember dreaming up the cafe, romanticizing every aspect of it, testing out so many recipes for our baked goods, drinking tons and tons of coffee until we chose the perfect one. So much goes in to starting a small business, you take on a handful of different roles and so many of your ideas and hopes change with time.

What I couldn’t have imagined, is the community we’ve built here. The neighborhood has been so welcoming and I’m so grateful for every single person (and dog) 🐶 that has walked through our doors. Customers that we now call friends, families that we’ve gotten to know, teachers, students, I feel so so lucky ✨

Thank you to all our suppliers that fill our little shop. Dani and Erich from Tiny Market for their delicious sandwiches and so many pasta samples. Goodfork for their perfect dips and spreads. Honest leaf for their thoughtfully crafted teas 🌸 But what I’m most grateful for is the team of amazing woman we have 👭👭🏻👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏻Lee and Anna who bring their vintage finds and great vibes once a month at their pop ups . Kaitlin, Jasmine and Laura, our superstar staff; I’ve always wanted to create a space where everyone feels welcome, and they do exactly that. They fill the cafe with the best energy, give attentive and friendly service and make working fun. Emily Rose would not be the same without them 🌺

Here’s to more hangouts with friends, books read, workshops, outdoor music, pop ups and great coffee.
