Hey friends,
As you may know, I lost my father this year. This is why Swell was shut down for a while - I drove to BC and took the time to care for him once his cancer diagnosis became known. Today marks three months since his very quick passing. I will be taking the weekend to reset, to be with family, and to be with my emotions. We will be back open next week (July 14th onward) and St Paul Roastery will be very well stocked with treats from me for the next week. I appreciate you all making this space for me, and thank you so much for being so supportive all the time. My dad was one incredible man. Grief is strange and not linear. Give your loved ones a hug, enjoy the sun, and be thankful ❤️

Hi friends & wonderful Thunder Bay community. I will be temporarily closing the bakery for some time. Because you all feel like family to me, I will be completely transparent. My dad currently needs care outside of the city, and I need to be with him right now.

As you may or may not know, the bakery is still primarily one woman run. I have some amazing, fantastic staff members that have taken a huge amount of weight off my shoulders, but it still isn’t realistic or possible to keep open while I am gone.

I will not be extremely active on this account, so I apologize if messages don’t get a reply.

Thank you so much for understanding, and I will be back soon with all of the flaky goods to treat you with. ❤️
