Sweet treats for the weekend ahead! We’ve got grab and go tokens of love for the motherly figures in your lives! The garden centres are opening this weekend! Our friends over at will be opening this weekend with their beautiful Daffodil Walk and next week will host their bumping Mother's Day event, with a walk, bbq and of course, plants! So I thought I would get the word out that my personal mini garden centre is now available in the store’s portico! I’ve been potting up extra seedlings to offer at the store here this spring, and the tomatoes are ready to go! Heirloom varieties of sauce, slicer and cherry tomatoes, all grown with Nova Scotia seed from and Recycled containers and pro mix potting soil. $4/plant Keep a look out for native plants, herbs, flowers and watermelons this spring! Happy gardening everyone!

An espresso chocolate stamp cookie to go with your coffee and seed catalogues? It is almost time to start those tomatoes and peppers up here on the North Shore! We’ve got a beautiful selection of seeds from and in store! Great varieties grown and harvested here in Nova Scotia, so better adapted to last season’s weather and environmental factors! I always have great germination with these companies and they have the most fun heirloom varieties to give your garden a beautiful diversity of texture and flavour! Some pics from my garden last year using local seed! Can’t wait to be out in the sunshine with the birds and the bees.

Quiet February, and the sun is brighter and the days longer. It’s a beautiful, still place to be up here in Earltown. If you can, I highly recommend a hike in the woods or a drive through the hills. It is peaceful and there is no cell service. We’re squeezing through another winter, wood stove going and coffee hot!

Our take and make freezer is freshly stocked with Cottage Pies (local beef, sharp cheddar potatoes and veggies!), a selection of soups, stratta and our famous baked beans! Hello all! Well it’s here! And we did it! I hope everyone can relax by this evening and have some time with their friends and loved ones. Looking forward to some board games and gift wrapping with a Christmas movie tonight myself. Here are the hours for the next few days: We are OPEN today the 24th until 4pm! CLOSED the 25th and OPEN the 26th from 10-4. Regular hours after that until New Years, which we haven’t had time to decide on yet but will let you know asap. Thank you all for sticking with us this year as we’ve had to navigate our septic system issues and finding new paths forward with the bakery. Thank you for coming and sharing your stories and lives, the good and the bad, and hearing ours too! Thank you to our neighbours for making Earltown a home. Thank you to our wonderful staff who have had to pivot year over year and make the store what it is with us! Feeling grateful for so much, and wish you all a peaceful holiday season with yours. Merry Christmas!
