for those of you that like it a little spicy 🌶️
sharp cheddar, fresh jalapeños, and pickled jalapeños baked right into the loaf. kind of gives “nacho” energy — cheesy, savoury, a little spicyyy!
though I think it could use extra cheese 🧀 😉

lots of new people in the bread club! let me introduce myself.

My name is Jorden and I have always loved to bake for my little family but would always bake too much. I knew I couldn’t scale down so I decided I’d scale up and share my craft with my community! some other hobbies of mine: snowboarding, playing drums/piano/guitar, hiking and crochet! 💖

I moved to Taber in July 2024 from Lethbridge with my husband Shaun and daughter Averie, who will be 3 in a month ❤️
I grew up in Fairview, a small town up north and moved to Lethbridge pretty much right after high school graduation and I have loved living here in the south ever since! though I do miss my family and the trees 🌲

I started Second Rise Bread in April this year, and since then I’ve really discovered how much I truly enjoy creating this traditional, slow food. I don’t think I’ve ever been more in my element!
I want to take a moment to thank you all for being here and supporting my journey.

this one reminds me of a slow weekend morning. but it has something to give you a little pep in your step (thank you, caffeine). if you love a good vanilla bean latte, or any sweet treat, this one’s for you!
I pondered this recipe for a bit— I wanted a coffee inspired loaf (because if you see me on bake day, you’d be impressed by how much coffee I can throw back!) but I knew in order to balance that with that sourdough tang, that I’d need it to be a little sweet, too. white chocolate and vanilla bean delivered!
we tried it and decided it is our new favourite (if it has coffee in it it’s probably my favourite by default LOL)
I think you’ll like it, too 🤎
