Today, with extreme heartache, I am letting our supportive customers, close friends and family know that talented chef, entrepreneur, musician and my beloved husband David Kyte passed away suddenly yesterday morning.

Dave’s passion for cooking and bringing local season food to the table will be greatly missed. He loved Cape Breton and the people who have helped us on our journey. He lived his dream of opening his own restaurant and moving to Gabarus.

Thank you all for your support and kindness. We never new people could be so honestly good and wholehearted.
At this time our restaurant will be closed indefinitely.

EGG ROLLS: filled with roast pork, caramelized pineapple and secret spices
PEKING DUCK: more like “Peking-Inspired” duck, this is not authentic but is delicious. We use confit duck with crispy skin, served with crêpes, scallions, cucumber and hoisin sauce
SZECHUAN CHICKEN SKEWERS: grilled over charcoal with chili & garlic, served with spicy dipping sauce
GINGER PEANUT SLAW: crunchy fresh vegetables with tangy ginger dressing and crushed toasted peanuts
LOBSTER FRIED RICE: savoury rice stir fried with fresh Gabarus lobster meat and spring vegetables
MACANESE EGG TARTS: similar to the Portuguese pasteis de nata, this is a baked custard tart with flaky yet chewy pastry crust - very yummy dessert!

this is the re-tooled, re-scheduled version of Frank’s Frolic dinner, re-engineered for the lockdown. It’s a celebration of Frank’s adventures in the orient, and a way to end his time here at Neck of the Woods in style. We have so enjoyed his company and contributions to what we do.
Basically It’s what happens when two white guys make their favourite chinese food.
