We’ve had an autumn of beauteous sunrises and sunsets and this was one from our back door recently. And even though it was blustery today, things were warm and cosy inside the kitchen and we are all ready for the Summerside Farmer's Market tomorrow with cranberry scones, date squares, butter tart squares, snickerdoodles, Italian orange cookies, and brown sugar shortbread. My friends, I won’t be at the Summerside Farmers Market tomorrow, but I’ll be at the Retro Revival Market at the beautiful pavilion on the grounds of St Mary’s Church, Indian River. The market goes from 10am-3pm so there’s lots of time to make your regular visit to Summerside and then come on out and say hello! Lots of beautiful vintage and collectibles to be found and I’ll have a collection of my own handmade treasures as well as lots of baking!

And just like that it’s October. My favorite season is here. Tomorrow at the Summerside Farmer's Market we will have cranberry scones, gateau breton, banana loaf with milk chocolate chips, lemon blueberry drizzle loaf, caramel fudge blondies and milk chocolate blondies. Very late posting tonight but just getting home from the most beautiful evening with old friends, a beautiful garden, paella cooked over a fire, perfect sunset, and many many stories told and retold.
If you come to the Summerside Farmer's Market tomorrow you can pick up cranberry scones, lemon tea cakes, cranberry orange tea cakes, apple c***r donut loaf, sea salt brownies and caramel fudge blondies. Happy weekend, friends xo

Edit: note to self. Do NOT use frozen bananas in that particular banana bread recipe. It can’t handle the extra moisture from the already very big number of bananas called for (6!)
Lesson learned.

Back from the most glorious week around the entire southern part of Nova Scotia. And all ready for another lovely Saturday at the Summerside Farmer's Market with cranberry scones, blueberry tea bread, caramel fudge blondies, buttermilk banana bread and lemon tea cakes. Hello, my friends, just popping in to say we are currently taking some holiday time around the beautiful south shore of Nova Scotia so the table will be closed tomorrow at the Summerside Farmer's Market. I hope everyone stays warm and dry and we will see you next week xo
