❄️❄️Winter wonderland themed cakes ❄️❄️

My lovely client sent along some photos of the sweets table for her daughter’s first birthday. Didn’t she do an amazing job with the decorations?? I was so impressed when I dropped everything off!

It’s hard to tell but the white cake was covered in clear sprinkles to give a “snow” effect. The smash cake was decorated with light pink and light teal. Both cakes had fondant snowflake decorations and gold dragees.

I also made some cakesicles and meringue trees for the celebration 🎄

I really love how it all turned out!....

I’ve done a couple Pokémon cakes before but never a Poké Ball design!

This cake was decorated with buttercream except for the black and white detail in the center.

Have I said how much I love tall cakes?! 😍

This was a 3 layer 4” cake made with vanilla bean cake and salted caramel buttercream. Some gold Sweetapolita dragees and salted caramel drizzle was all that was needed to finish this cake off.

This would be my go to cake for sure!!.....

This was a fun cake to make in celebration of my customers son making the Stouffville Clippers select team 🏒🎉

For me, the hardest buttercream colours to make are by far black and red!! This cake incorporates both of them!

For black buttercream I found starting with a chocolate buttercream and then adding dark cocoa powder is the best way to do it! That way you aren’t left with a bad after taste from gel colouring and/or stained teeth!

As for red, I’ve found this just takes time for the colour to develop. I like using a mix of TheSugarArt.com master elite red rose and Wilton Cake Decorating no-taste red gel colour.

It sure doesn’t feel like summer outside but this cake makes me think of warmer times 😎☀️

This was a lemon poppyseed cake with a lemon curd buttercream filling 🍋 The macarons on top were filled with lemon curd too!

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted🙈! I have so many cakes to share! Things have just been so busy around here and I haven’t made the time. I’m hoping to post more regularly going forward! Thanks for sticking around 🤗

This is a throwback to warmer times this past summer when my little guy turned 2 🎉🎂💕

This was an 8” vanilla bean cake with vanilla buttercream on the bottom and a 6” carrot cake with cream cheese filling on top! It was delicious 😋

This was a cake I did a few weeks ago for an anniversary 🌹

In addition to the cake, I made a dozen Nutella cupcakes and a dozen lemon meringue cupcakes.

Making a cake with red buttercream is a real challenge! My strategy is to use a high quality pigmented powdered food coloring like TheSugarArt.com and lots and lots of time for the colour to develop!

I also added a bit of Wilton Cake Decorating no-taste red food coloring to depend the red even more.

Overall, I’m happy with the depth of colour I was able to achieve without an artificial taste. ...

A 50th wedding anniversary cake to celebrate two couples 🍾

This cake had a simple design with ombré exterior, buttercream rope border and a few gold dragees to bring it all together.

Gold cakes have been very popular lately! This was one I did a few weeks back with a gold drip and gold leaf accents. Love it 🤗

This cake was a 3-layer 8” red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. The flowers came from Stouffville Florist Inc. They were a great finishing touch to this cake!....
