I was so happy to have been asked to make this cake for such a special 5 year old. I remember making his first birthday cake! He’s growing up so fast ♥️🥳🎂

Sharing one of my fav Hot Chocolate Recipes -- Enjoy!

**Orange Spice Hot Chocolate** - Serves 2
2 cups Milk
2 tbsp Cocoa powder
2 Tbsp granulated sugar (or the equivalent of a sugar substitute)
2 curls of orange peel
Pinch of salt
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
1/4 cup shredded dark chocolate or Chocolate chips
Whipped cream (optional)

1. Pour milk into a saucepan, then whisk in cocoa, sugar, orange peels, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Place pan on the stove and warm milk until hot but not boiling.
2. Allow the milk to steep at this temp for 2-3 mins, then remove the orange peels. Careful not to boil the milk.
3. Remove the orange peel and whisk in the chocolate until melted and well combined.
4. Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon or cocoa powder and enjoy!

**Milk and chocolate can be replaced with a dairy-free alternative. Nut or oat milk works well, be sure not to boil.

**Sugar and chocolate can be replaced with sugar substitute for a sugar-free version
