Many of you have been wondering what happened to me and my baking. Don’t worry, I am still here! I’ve just been watching everyone else bake and wondering if I’ll forget how to do it by the time I get back in the kitchen.
March was incredibly busy. We cleaned, decluttered, packed, and painted our house to get it ready to sell. April arrived, the house went on the market, and the very next day we left for Orlando, Florida, for a cheer competition. I desperately needed the break, the sun, and the beach, which we escaped to for a few days after the competition ended and we had visited all the Universal Parks. Miraculously, our house sold just three days after we returned. It was truly a ‘BUT God’ moment—what an absolute relief to not have to worry about two mortgages!
It all sounds perfect, except we just found out that the possession date for our new build has been pushed back from the end of July to the end of August. Now we are scrambling to find a place to live. Between the chaos of moving right as the kids start school and my hope to start baking again in September, I feel like everything is coming at me at once. But once again, I am going to lean on God and trust His timing. It’s not ideal, but it’s not the end of the world. It’s like growing pains or giving birth: once you make it to the other side, it’s all worth it.
So, until I reach the other side, I will be dreaming about my new bakery space and everything I want to create. Can I tell you a secret? Dreams give you life and colour. No, not all of my dreams have come true, but they have always gotten me through the times when life wasn’t going my way.
