Blast off to ONE 🚀🌎🪐

We celebrated my little Sous Chefs first birthday today with a space themed birthday party. The guest cake was a vanilla cake with mixed berry filling. It was decorated with handmade fondant planets, rocket and astronaut.

We went to the moon and back with his smash cake. It was a vanilla cake with traditional buttercream.

Lastly, we had a second flavour in cupcakes. Turtle chocolate with chocolate ganache and salted caramel.

Sometimes when I am not available to make a cake for someone, I help with the design and provide figurines, toppers, or accent pieces. Which is exactly what these Pokémon and Minecraft cupcake toppers are for.

I’ve made this little girls birthday cake for years. This year she turned 6 but I was gone and unable to make her cake. So her mom baked the cupcakes and added these cupcake toppers like a true professional! Fondant pieces can be made ahead of time and left out to air dry / harden.

Back in November, we welcomed my little Sous Chef into the world. He celebrated his half birthday in May which means he got a half birthday cake!

I settled on this Halfway to One sun cake because he is the sunshine to our day! And with summer right around the corner, we were ready to take in some sun! ☀️

Another cake for another special birthday! This cake was made for a special a friend who turned 5 and requested a Mario theme cake.

He saw the previous Mario cake I made and asked for the same thing. But since I don’t ever want to make the same cake twice, I switched up the design a bit that was just for him!

Although I’ve taken some time off this year, I was able to make a couple cakes. This cake was made for a special birthday who is obsessed with The Hulk. And even got Hulk hands to SMASH!

Last cake of the season and one of my absolute favourites! This gluten free lemon blueberry and Saskatoon berry filled wedding cake was made for a special couple who got married this past weekend. 🧡🧡🧡

The bride sent me inspiration photos of her decor and bouquet that I recreated through sculpted buttercream flowers. Something told me to throw edible pearls onto the cake last minute which I am so glad I did as her jewelry was pearl based!

Mario time!! 👾

This cake was made for a special birthday girl! She challenged me but knew exactly what she wanted. Her asks included:
- Mario theme
- Rainbow cake
- Heart shaped
- Peach flavour

And I delivered on it all! The shape of the cake is in fact the shape of a heart with the bottom of the heart shape on the right. The cake flavour was vanilla with a peach filling and each layer of cake was dyed a different colour of the rainbow. The pipe was also made of cake and started with the red of the rainbow.

The little cutie who had this cake turned One in a Melon last week! 🍉🍉🍉

Her birthday party was watermelon themed from the decorations right down to the napkins and even her moms earrings!

The cake for the guests was vanilla cookies and cream. While the little smash cake was your traditional vanilla which was safe and tasty just for the birthday girl.

This spider man cake combo was made for a special 1 year old. Included a small matching smash cake. It was half and half vanilla chocolate with a cookies and cream filling and ganache.
