The update we’ve all been waiting for 🫶🏽

After December 31st, 2025, I’ll no longer be accepting orders under Ally’s Creeative Bakeshop.

After a year of scaling back- Making this decision was one that came through a lot of reflection, listening, and trusting that it’s time for a new chapter.

I started this bakeshop in 2019, in the thick of so much uncertainty, not knowing where it would take me — I only knew that I needed a creative outlet, a way to support my family, and something that kept me grounded in my authenticity. What it became was so much more than I ever expected.

Over the years, I’ve had the honour of baking for all occasions, appeared on tv shows, filmed with the food network, competed and won a few competitions, educated hundreds through food, fed over thousands in the community and I’ve met so many beautiful souls through this work — people I now consider part of my extended community. Every single order meant something to me. Every box I packed was filled with more than cookies or cupcakes — it carried care, culture, and a piece of my heart.

But most of all, this bakeshop gave me the gift of time. It allowed me to be present with my babies, to be there for those early days, the nap times, the school drop-offs, and the everyday moments I’ll never get back. That alone makes all the hustle worth it.

As this season comes to a close, I feel nothing but gratitude. And even though it’s hard to let go, I know it’s time.

Moving forward, I’ll be pouring my energy into growing my consulting company, deepening my journey as an artist and growing my efforts to give back to my community. All of which call to me in a way that feels aligned with who I am today — and who I’m becoming.

Thank you — to every single person who supported this dream. Thank you for cheering me on, for telling your friends, for coming back year after year. You helped me build something real.

I’ll never forget this chapter. But it’s time to turn the page.

With love and gratitude,
Ally 🤍

This news was published on CBC News December 16th 2024.

YWCA Canada has issued an apology for its historical role in supporting colonial programs, including residential schools and Indian hospitals, which promoted assimilation policies and caused harm to Indigenous communities. In a news release, CEO Aline Nizigama acknowledged the organization’s colonial legacy, stating they are taking ownership as part of their journey toward reconciliation. This follows research commissioned in 2019 on their involvement, with a summary report recently published.
However, despite YWCA Canada’s public apology, their actions a year ago—and as recent as this past year at the Women of Distinction Awards—demonstrate otherwise. To this day, I have not received an apology from the YWCA board regarding their decision to award two white women in the Reconciliation category over two Indigenous nominees—myself included.
Their behavior speaks louder than words and highlights their continued failure to engage in meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous people. Their rooted and systemic racism remains intact, and this decision speaks volumes about their lack of understanding, accountability, and genuine commitment to true reconciliation.
