🇬🇷 In Greek culture, a name day is celebrated much like a birthday.
According to Greek Orthodox tradition, each day of the year is dedicated to a Christian saint or martyr, and if you’re named after one of them, that day becomes your name day.
Today is my γιορτή (yiortí) as we say in Greek. I was named after my grandmother, Στυλιανή (Styliani). My Greek name is Styliani, but everyone knows me as Stella.
On this day, it’s customary to exchange the greeting Χρόνια Πολλά (Hronia Polla), meaning many years or simply all the best.
I'm so honoured that I can carry on my passion for sharing Greek traditions through Stella's Baklava. Thank you for all your support. 🩷
