Well… this feels a little surreal.

I entered a national cooking competition with a chance to appear in Taste of Home Magazine and win $25,000.

As of today, I’m sitting at #20 in my group.

Truthfully, I don’t expect to win. There are some incredibly talented chefs in this competition. But after building Nolaa’s from the ground up, surviving COVID, surviving a flood, and continuing to grow both Nolaa’s and Private Chef Niagara, I figured it was time to put myself out there and see what happens.

If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal at Nolaa’s, hired me as your private chef, attended one of my events, cheered me on, or simply believe in supporting local small businesses, I would be incredibly grateful for your vote.

Some of you have known Kyler since he was just a kid standing beside me at farmers’ markets, proudly selling bags of Nolaa Granolaa.

Over the past six years, many of you have watched him grow up right here at Nolaa’s.

This week, Kyler is leaving home to begin a new chapter at the legendary Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta.

As his mother, it is hard to put into words what this moment means. I am proud beyond measure. Proud of the young man he has become. Proud of his courage to leave what is familiar and chase something bigger. Proud of his passion for food, hospitality, and creating experiences that make people feel cared for.

Many of you have treated Kyler with so much kindness over the years. You have encouraged him, laughed with him, and supported him as he found his place in this world. For that, I will always be grateful.

Kyler, you have been by my side through the highs and lows of building this business.. Watching you spread your wings is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Your Nolaas Team and Family love you more than words can say.

Please join us in wishing Kyler all the success in the world as he begins what I know will be an extraordinary culinary journey.

I didn’t know as a child I wanted to be a Mom. I also didn’t know I wanted to be a dog Mom… and I never imagined I would have a little place called Nolaas that I could foster into a real foster home of sorts.

I also didn’t know as a child that I would want to save as many humans & animals as possible and dedicate my livelihood and whole soul on that very foundation.

As Mother’s Day weekend unfolded here at Nolaas, we were blessed with our very first in-house wedding, presided by our very own officiants and . It was beautiful. Carried out in front of our fireplace and sealed with a custom intimate dinner for their loved ones.

On Mother’s Day, my team & I served dozens of families High Tea and squeezed in as many other families as we could to celebrate the gift and virtue of honouring your mother.

Tomorrow, my own Mom and I will have the chance to celebrate each other with a nice lunch and time well spent. Were we upset we couldn’t celebrate on the ‘day’ - no. Because I’ve learned on this journey that my gift in this world is giving - and that’s not a once a year occurrence.

Happy Mothers Year to all. I love you, I celebrate you and I deeply thank you ♥️♥️♥️
