Havenāt had a bakers rant for a while. Let me take care of that quickly. A pretty interesting conversation came up last night. I was told all I can think about is my business. Very true. But it was almost like it was a bad thing. And that I need to be able to not think about the bakery when Iām not in it. Ok. Thatās easier said than done. As a matter of fact, I donāt know any entrepreneurs that donāt constantly think about their business. Not a single one. The meal I had last night was paid for by my bakery. Chloes vet bill was paid for by the bakery. My rent and my lease payments are all paid for by the bakery. No bakery and no business means I canāt pay for anything. My livelihood depends on it. I have no other source of income. And I truly think people that get a guaranteed paycheque every two weeks, or donāt work at all, donāt fully understand what it takes to make your own income. Itās constant worries. Constant stress. With big dreams of it paying off at the end. Then came the second thing that had me stewing ever since it was said. Your dad sure is lucky. Tons of money and retired in the Canary Islands. Ya I donāt think lucky is the right word here. He was also an entrepreneur. The only way I could spend any time with him when I was small, was to go to work with him. Always. And after a lifetime of stress, and health issues, heās very āluckyā. Every single one of my friends that run their own business, guess what, stress and worries. Seems to be a pattern to this. Honestly the word āluckyā gets under my skin. What do you entrepreneurs think out there? Am I wrong?
