This feels like a heck of alot to share in a single post💘
On January 1st we, and many others, had someone extremely important leave us unexpectedly. Mom, Lillie James, was undoubtedly the biggest OG supporter of Lockwood Sourdough. Throughout the first year, when our production was home-based, Lil helped plan each batch. She wrote order notes on the fridge, made extra space for dough, allowed her oven to be run for countless hours, and beautifully marked the varieties by hand on every single bag. This business just wouldn't be, if not for the love of Lil 🥲
While this loss hasn't fully settled in yet, it was back to baking and partner deliveries this week because that's how a dedicated dough maker structures their life 🍞. There is also a second piece of bittersweet news that we need to share. After a successful 2.5 year residence in Manitou Beach, we have decided to shift our business and production back to Regina. Moving, at least temporarily, back to a concentrated focus on wholesale will afford us with the ability to keep providing sourdough on essentially the same schedule we have been, but with more time for ourselves, for each other, and for people that we share our lives with.
We expect our last day open at the Manitou shoppe to be January 20th, but we'll let you know if that changes any. Regina, Moose Jaw, Nokomis and Craven sourdough lovers should expect little to no interruption in what they are used to seeing on a weekly basis.
Wrapping up, this was indeed alot to share all at once, but breaking it up into two subsequent posts seemed like a heavier task in some way. So there you have it. Thank you, as always, and please know that we appreciate you ❤️
