These gorgeous cupcakes were fun to make and sooooo tasty! Vanilla confetti cake base with a chocolate velvet and vanilla bourbon icing. Perfect mix together.

A day to remember… thank you to all our veterans who sacrificed and fought for our country.

Summer time fails… these cakes actually turned out in the end but had to be some of the most stressful couple days assembling I’ve had.

Living in Red deer, we aren’t used to much humidity…well this past summer was a humid one and my icing wouldn’t set in the heavy moisture. Cakes that should have taken me 4 hours to do, took over double that and i was a slight mess while in it.
It kind of brought out some internal battles I was having with myself- funny how that happens right?

So yes, I called it quits for a couple months to reset :). I find these stressful times are excellent to take some time to learn from and then do some self work…which can lead to coming back stronger.

So here I am!
