It occurred to me that I’ve been running this bakery for over 2 years now and I’ve never once posted a photo of me doing what I love!

So Hi 👋🏻 - if you’ve never met me, my name is Gina Benson and I am the owner/baker/instructor here at THE Sourdough Co.

I have a passion for many things including baking, cooking, homesteading, homeschooling, being a momma and loving Jesus with my whole heart.

Here I bake all types of modern breads made the tradional way using organic ingredients, and flour that has not been butchered by the commercial food system.

Rye anyone? 🌾

So many of you have asked if I sell rye sourdough and I’ve been hesitant to go there. But happy to report that today I started down that road.

This week at The gasolinealleyfarmersmarket, I will have 2 loaves of New York Deli Rye available for purchase. The loaves weigh in at just over 2 lbs, are 30% organic rye, and have organic caraway seeds for an authentic NY Deli Rye Flavour.

First come first served and if you’d like to pre-order for next Friday, let me know!

I recently changed up the way I mix my sourdough pizza crust.

And it’s better than ever now!

Tonight we did a beetroot, caramelized onion, feta, rosemary and mozzarella pizza. We also did a tomato, mozzarella, caramelized onion, and feta pizza. Both were superb.
