There has been a lot of conversation online recently, sparked by Robbie Hoffman on the Call Her Daddy podcast, questioning whether celiac disease is even real.
As a certified gluten-free bakery, we wanted to approach the conversation through education and hear directly from experts and advocates in the celiac community.
We sat down with Cynthia Loveman and Pushba Kapadia from the Canadian Celiac Association to talk about the reality of celiac disease and why awareness matters.
Celiac disease is a serious autoimmune disease with over 200 possible symptoms, including migraines, miscarriages, diabetes, thyroid issues, and more. These symptoms are very real, and for many people, living gluten free is medically necessary, not a trend.
If you are experiencing symptoms, speak with a healthcare professional.
