I picked up some Damson plums from Vicki Emlaw and Honeycrisp apples from Creasy's Apple Dabble Family Farm so it’s a tart weekend! There’s also a Citrus Ombré cake (blood oranges from Australia). Watershed magazine also gave me a shoutout in their fall issue ☺️, thank you!

This is a fall favourite; Upside Down Pear cake with crystallized ginger, the pears are dipped in caramelized honey from Calum McRae where the pear juices soak into the cake. The pears bring out the amazing floral flavour of the honey 🤤. Of course I’m still making the Sour Cream Lemon pies!
I know it’s kind of hard to see but I got to watch a Preying Mantis lay her egg sack on my kitchen window, it took her about 90 minutes and the eggs could hatch anywhere from 2-6 weeks, if they don’t, hopefully they’ll survive the winter and hatch in the spring, so cool!

It’s a stone fruit weekend…plum torte is one of my favourites, juicy plums sink into a buttery cake making it moist and plum tarts on a pate brisée crust showcases the sweetness of the red plums, they have the slightest drizzle of honey from Calum McRae and there’s peach and blueberry tarts baking in the oven as I write this. Available in the bunkie tomorrow, have a great weekend!

I don’t think plums get the attention they deserve. Once baked, their flavour comes through, not too sweet, a little tart and coupled with a drizzle of honey from Calum McRae, that brings out all their flavour. There’s only 1 left here and I’ll take a couple to Vicki Emlaw for Saturday.

Just want to introduce Leslie to everyone. She’s been an invaluable addition to my little bakery helping me out 2 days a week. You can thank Leslie for keeping Cressy Mustard Co. and Vicki Emlaw stocked in Coconut Macaroons, helping with the pie making and Ice Cream Sandwiches.
There’s a fresh batch of granola in the bunkie along with the treats for the weekend.

These little chocolate cakes with strawberry buttercream are in the bunkie along with plum torte, squares and some coconut macaroons.
I’ll TRY and get some pies made for Sunday because peaches are ready 😋
