My first ever Rye Bread. I had trouble moving it from the board to the oven (hence the weird shape) but it smells amazing. The hardest part will be waiting 24-48 hours to slice this baby. Next time I’ll use parchment for the transfer.

I grew up watching the amazing women around me; my mom, my aunts and my grandmothers, baking for their families. And I felt love. Ultimately I think that influenced my love of baking and making people happy through food.
I’ve been baking since I was 9 years old. In the early days, it was box mixes and I quickly moved on to from-scratch baking and I’ve never looked back. A few years ago, a cake decorating class with a friend renewed my love of baking, and taking baking classes has become a new passion for me. I love to bake the kind of food that reminds you of home and mom and makes you feel loved. I believe in, and find beauty in simple bakes. People often tell me they can taste the love in my bakes. I hope you do too.
