The BEST homemade mac & cheese!! With the weather starting to get cooler, this cheesy and delicious mac & cheese is the perfect comfort food for an easy and cozy dinner. Three different kinds of cheese with a crispy, buttery topping, this is sure to be one of your new favs this Autumn season.

Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
* 8 oz. Macaroni (or other small pasta, I like the mini shells)
* 1/4 cup unsalted butter
* 1/4 cup all purpose flour
* 2 cups milk
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1/4 tsp. black pepper
* 1/2 tbsp yellow mustard
* Sprinkle of nutmeg
* 2 cups shredded medium cheddar cheese
* 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese (or old cheddar)

Topping
* 3/4 cups panko breadcrumbs
* 2 tbsp melted butter
* 1/4 cup shredded parmesan

Cook macaroni according to directions until al dente and set aside (drizzle with olive oil to keep from sticking together).

In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sprinkle flour over top and whisk for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking the entire time. Let cook for 3-4 minutes until sauce is thickened and can coat the back of a spoon.

Add salt, pepper, mustard, and nutmeg, stirring to combine. Remove from heat and add cheeses, stirring until melted.

Add macaroni to sauce and combine.

Pour into a greased casserole dish

Mix together melted butter, panko and Parmesan and sprinkle over top of casserole.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.

You can double this recipe and bake in a 9x13 dish to serve more people.

Enjoy!!

🎃Rice Paper Stained Glass Pumpkins🎃.

Happy September! It’s officially the ‘ber’ months. The best time of the year! I’m kicking off September with these sparkly rice paper pumpkins, perfect for Halloween cake toppers, autumn garlands, or make mini ones to top cupcakes. These set completely solid, perfect for lasting the whole spooky season.

To make, colour some very hot water with orange food colouring (or orange edible glitter). Cut out some rounds from rice paper and dip in the hot water. Form into pumpkin shapes on some parchment paper, adding a brown piece of rice paper as a stem. Let set completely (it may take 1-2 days). Add some gold edible marker accents and use to decorate however you’d like!

Bring on Autumn! 🍂🎃

🎄Only four months to go until Christmas!🎄. Don’t worry, I’m still all in on Halloween and spooky content, but I had to share these adorable candy cane printed cookies to celebrate four months until Christmas. Made with coloured sugar cookie dough, they’re perfect for anyone who doesn’t like icing but still wants beautifully decorated Christmas cookies. Make sure to save these for those holiday sweets trays!

🎃Jack-O’-Lantern Printed Sugar Cookies🎃.

I’m obsessed with these spooky black and orange cookies decorated with smiling Jack-o’-lanterns. You can use any cutout sugar cookie recipe, and colour some of it black and some orange with gel food colouring. Create a simple pumpkin design and then pop in the freezer for a few minutes. Cut into shapes and bake. Once cooled, use a food colour marker to create pumpkin faces and stems. The most perfect cookies for Halloween parties!

🎃Halloween Trick-Or-Treat Cake Cups!🎃

These individual cake treats are basically like a cup full of sugar, but it’s Halloween, it’s expected right? 😜. They’re a perfect activity for Halloween parties, and everyone can decorate their cup in their own fun way. Fill the cup with circles of cake layered with icing, and then decorate with assorted candies. These are a perfect favour to bring home as well!

🎃’Pumpkin Pie’ Sugar Cookie🎃

Is this not the cutest cookie you’ve ever seen! This pumpkin pie shaped sugar cookie is made with zero icing so it’s super simple to create. Just colour some sugar cookie dough with gel food colouring and create this easy pumpkin pie design. Make sure to use a cutout sugar cookie recipe (I like Sally’s Baking’s recipe!) to ensure it doesn’t spread. I also freeze my cookie dough after shaping it for 10 minutes and then put it right into the oven. I baked mine for about 13 mins at 350°C.

If you’re like me and don’t like pumpkin pie, give this adorable cookie a try!

🎃Candy Corn Sugar Cookies🎃.

I know a lot of people have a love/hate relationship with candy corn (personally I love it!). But for those of you that don’t love the taste, but love it as a symbol of Halloween, try out this sugar cookie version instead! Use your favourite sugar cookie recipe (Sally’s Baking has a great one!) and colour three pieces of dough orange, yellow and white using gel food colouring. Roll them into equal thicknesses and layer on top of each other. Pop in the freezer for 10 minutes and then cut into sections, then into candy corn shapes (a pizza cutter works great here).

I baked mine at 350°C for about 9 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!

The best (and prettiest) way to use up leftover sugar cookie dough! Colour smaller bits of dough with gel food colouring, and mix it into this fun tie-dye design. Cut it into any shapes you want and bake. I love making these into heart shapes filled with jam or preserves. And no icing or piping skills needed!

Five super easy fondant (or gumpaste) Disney Princess cake toppers!

These are the perfect simple designs if you want to decorate your own cake but you don’t have a lot of fondant sculpting skills. These are so easy to make and they turn out so adorable! These are also fun to make in clay or play doh. The kiddies will love helping!
