DONE COLLEGE! Whoooooo👩🎓 👩🏻🍳 This program was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I am so proud of everyone who completed this year. I humbled myself, learned to walk out of my comfort zone more willingly, and I gained knowledge, skills, & experience that I’ll carry forward. However, two other things came out of my time George Brown College Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts that I didn’t really expect... I learned to cope and handle anxiety in a really healthy and progressive way. Situations that caused me extreme stress and put pressure on me ended up giving me an opportunity to grow and develop resilience and strength. This was a huge step for me and I still have issues but I feel more understanding of how I react to anxiety-provoking events now and I’m more confident that I can conquer challenging and dark times. (I had dreams about burning croissant and setting the kitchen on fire at least 3x😂 .... I frantically ran down king street late for exams....I dropped finished products on the floor and had to improvise when the chef was yelling at the class to “hustle hustle” ... I woke up at 8am for a 7am lab ... oh man, crap was always happening.) Secondly, I connected with people who are purely creative, genius , talented, uplifting, supportive, humorous and preserving. I have you to thank for my success and ability to continue studying. Your encouragement means the world to me. Thanks for believing in each other and yourselves. I know you’re the type of people I want around long term cause you’re seriously such huge lights to this world and bring me so much joy.
