It’s pie season! Unpopular opinion: I don’t really like pumpkin pie. BUT I love my mother-in-law’s pumpkin chiffon pie! It’s light and airy, with the perfect blend of spices. It’s THAT good. It is so good in fact that I have converted many pumpkin pie haters with Heathers recipe and it is now part of the Le family Thanksgiving tradition as well. Top with a dollop of whipped cream (or Cool Whip for all you lactose intolerant friends) and you have perfection! Happy pie season everyone and all hail the pumpkin chiffon pie!

Amethyst geode meets Skyrim cake! I have to admit I had no idea that Skyrim was a video game before making this cake but that’s what I love about caking - the personalization of every cake to fit each individuals unique personality. I learn something new each time I make a cake. This was my first time making kohakutou (edible crystal gummies made of agar agar) and it took me four tries to get the colour right but it was worth it! Turned out better than I had pictured in my head.

These cookies were custom made for the graduating indigenous youth of Parry Sound High School. Each indigenous student was given a real feather as they crossed the stage on graduation day. The feather has huge cultural significance, symbolizing respect, honour, strength, and wisdom. I added the different colours to highlight Pride/Two Spirit month.

There have been a lot of requests for pink lately but each cake is so different from the next! This one required a lot of patience and practice with my buttercream flowers. I still have a long way to go to master my piping skills but this is a good start.
