Angel Food Cake with pastry cream and fresh fruit!

I had a really fun time making this cake! Anything with egg whites is always super fun because of how fluffy the meringue gets!!! It was like making a cloud! One of my fave cakes to have with tea! This was my first time making Angel food cake, but it turned out perfectly! Winter is coming but this cake makes me feel like it’s still spring time ❤️

Vanilla cupcakes with rosewater Korean buttercream! 🌹

Since I got my stand mixer the other day I’ve been really working hard at practicing my buttercream flowers! These were made after I ruined the first ones by accidentally smashing them against the fridge door! Note to self, never place buttercream flowers on an extremely flat pan! They all slid off in slow motion as I yelled “nooooooo!” 😭 It was painful!

But I guess baking is all about trying, failing, and trying again! I’m glad these at least came out looking somewhat like flowers!

Apple Rose Sugar Cookie Tart with Farm Fresh Strawberries! 🍓🍎

This one was inspired by and while I can’t do proper pastry yet, I picked up her book “Pastry School” and I’m really looking forward to learning all about pastry! I will definitely be baking more tarts in the future!

It’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to seriously bake! Since my last post, I successfully completed my thesis and graduated with a masters degree! I was so busy with the end of the program that I barely had time to bake, I felt like I was going crazy! Usually I would bake as a break from my work, but I didn’t have any extra time to even do that! Happy to be done and bake to baking my lil’ heart out! It’s finally feeling like fall here, so stay tuned for more cozy bakes!
