Last weekend I made a wedding cake for an old co-worker.
This one was a difficult one, I haven't done much hand piping and there was a lot on this one. I really wasn't sure how this one would turn out, I spent many hours piping and wiping and then repiping especially on the top tier, but I think it paid off.

I had the chance and the privilege of making a wedding cake for an old friend from high school. Roy was always one of the nicest people I have ever met so when I was asked to make a cake for such a special day for these two special people (Roy & Carey) I was beyond honored.

So I made a fun cake for Laura Jane Grace, a Funko Pop version of her.
Unlike the other cakes, I have done for her this one was just from me for fun. Felt like I had to since she was coming to Oshawa instead of having my brother deliver the cake to Chicago.
The last picture is the poster for her tour and was the inspiration.

Superhero cake I did a couple weeks ago.
Had a hard time with Superman's face and hands, they are too small and the modeling chocolate just keeps melting in my hands. People who know me know that I'm always very hot, so I do have issues with this medium, especially with very small pieces. One day I figure it out. The Dark Knight and Spider-man were much easier since they have masks and gloves.
Each city skyline is the city of each hero but I did misalign superman's so he is covering the daily planet globe, but it's there.

Super Mario cake

This one was done for a special boy turning 6. I was asked to make this cake through a wonderful charity called "Icing Smiles" That I have been involved with for a few years now, even though this is only the 2nd cake I have been asked to do (the princess cake I did in 2019 was the 1st). Icing Smiles helps families with a sick child get a special cake on their birthday. Sometimes are asked if we would do one for their siblings cause even though they are not the one who is sick they are suffering as well and need a little something extra to help even for one day.

Another Laura Jane Grace inspired cake.

This one brewed from her lyrics for "Day Old Coffee" a song of off her newest record "At War With The Silverfish". I put the album cover on the mug but changed the title to the name of the song to make the connection easier. Not sure if that was needed since if you know the song at all it's pretty obvious.

The chorus lyrics are
"Day old coffee microwaved to boiling
Pour it on my eyeballs and boil my dumb s**t brains out"

This one was not for Laura but for my sister-in-law, who loves Laura Jane Grace a lot.
