Welp. After years of dedication to the brand, it's well beyond time to drop Ernie Ball as my go to for on hand strings. Please do leave recommendations in the comments of string brands that have not failed you more times than they've succeeded to fulfill their basic function πŸ™‚

The last straw, or string if you will. Broken at a point where there was no contract being made with the instrument within moments of installation. I wish I could say this was a first, but it's far from it.

Aren't you glad everything's doubled in price and halved in quality?

The lone latch on the other side of the case that exists for no other reason than to make a crunching sound when you forget to open it along with the others.

I can't be the only one.

On a completely unrelated note, It's come to my attention that after multiple years of posting, the app has just now decided to post to my page simultaneously like I wanted from the beginning.

If you're seeing this there, Welcome to purgatory. Head over to my Instagram and give me a follow πŸ™

Repair guy repairs over previous repair. We all fall down.

Long time no see.

Sprayed black last time, and that means I get to use maple🍁

I need a better light ,or perhaps an instinct to take pictures during the day time. It looks better than that I promise 🫠

Nice and strong again.

Everyone says they hate fretwork. It's actually one of my strong suits, and something I enjoy more than most things.

I'll take the same mundane task 24 times in a row over ripping out a wiring harness 400 times to figure out which singular strand of braided cable is shorting the whole thing 🀷

Something from one of my favorite regulars. Everything that's been brought in has been custom made for him.

This is one such instrument. It's immediately clear from the moment you pick it up that someone put their heart into this. It's been one of the most inspiring instruments I've worked on.

It's unfortunate to have such built in disdain for the products that massive multi million dollar companies shovel out with no concern for quality or lastability, but it's easy to understand why I feel this way so often.

It's been a harsh adjustment living through this last while where companies have become so enormous that they've all become largely uncompetitive.

I'm not one for "fakes", but I truly believe that there's a huge difference between something made to deceive, and something crafted specifically for someone with intent and expertise to fill a gap that a company refuses to fill for a remotely reasonable price.

This guy is a reminder that your don't need to settle. To play something special.

Have you ever worked on or played a custom build made to look like a production instrument that blew you away?

Red label Yamaha FG gets new frets. Always impressed by the older Yamaha stuff.

Its nice to fly through an unbound refret after doing a million bound necks in a row.

She's got some scars from previous work, but I generally like to keep all that stuff unless it gets in the way.
