If you’ve ever emailed a cake artist and thought, “can’t you just give me a price?” — I get it.

When you’re planning a wedding, you need to know what things cost. You have a budget to work with, and you don’t want to spend time falling in love with something that’s completely out of reach.

But when you’re looking for a custom wedding cake, there isn’t one price that applies to every couple.

The design, number of servings, tiers, florals, delivery, setup and all the little details that make your cake yours can change the final investment.

That’s why I’m happy to give you a general investment range upfront, but your custom quote comes after we’ve had a conversation 🙌 Not because I’m trying to make the process complicated. Quite the opposite

The night before Abby and Hudson’s wedding, we hosted a casual welcome party for their family and friends arriving in Lethbridge! 🎳

We rented the Elks Picnic Shelter through the City of Lethbridge, which was the perfect spot for a relaxed “Lovers Lane” evening with a little vintage bowling inspiration. Guests could enjoy lawn games, including lawn bowling, while catching up and settling into the wedding weekend.

We kept the food simple and classic: burgers, hot dogs, chips and, of course, cookies đŸȘ

The goal wasn’t to create another formal event, but a place where everyone could eat, play, visit and spend some easygoing time together before the wedding day.

The Elks Picnic Shelter was fantastic for this kind of gathering, with a barbecue, full kitchen and plenty of space for a large group. If you’re planning a welcome party, family gathering or casual event in Lethbridge, it’s definitely worth looking into the City of Lethbridge picnic shelters. 💕

Too many wedding cakes give guests no reason to care, and I know that’s a little spicy, but after 10 years in the wedding industry, here’s what I’ve noticed:

The cakes that get eaten are ones that create anticipation. People make room for things they’re excited about 🙌 So if you’re worried about leftover cake, my suggestion isn’t to order less cake. It’s to make the cake more interesting.

Choose a design that feels like an extension of your wedding rather than something you picked because it felt “safe.” Choose flavours that make people pause when they read them.

The goal is for guests to think:

“That cake looks incredible. I can’t wait to try it”

And then when they take a bite:

“Okay, that tastes even better than I expected”

That’s where the magic happens. Not when cake is treated like another item on the checklist. But when it becomes part of the experience đŸ„‚Because anticipation followed by a great experience creates memories!

And in my experience, those are the cakes that rarely come home with the couple at the end of the night 💕
