I had the pleasure of creating this wedding cake back in September 2023 for an amazing, fun & beautiful couple. The wedding took place on gorgeous property in Central Alberta.

The bride gave me her preferred theme and flavour and trusted me to fill the gaps.

The cake was infused with my own creation of deep flavoured Earl Grey milk and syrup as well as vanilla bean buttercream.

My final cake of 2023 was such a special one! This was my first gender reveal cake 🩷

Double layer Vanilla and Earl Grey tea sponge with classic lavender coloured American Buttercream, sugar and lustre dusted to give the cake a sparkling crystal vibe ✨
The centre of the cake was filed with mixed pink sprinkles that spilled out to reveal IT’S A GIRL 🎀 once sliced through!

This labour of love was made specially for my own daughter who celebrated her 11th birthday in May! This is her favourite and has now become a birthday tradition for her.

Thank you SO much for sharing, liking, commenting & following along so far! As many of you know, this is a hobby & I have a very real full-time job plus a family that keeps me very busy! Starting June 1st I will be taking a break from cake & baking orders to focus on a brand new professional development in my actual career. I can take a couple more orders for the month of May! Chocolate cake with callabaut chips and Italian meringue gave this cake a marshmallowy, Oreo flavour!

Over the last couple weeks, I have taken hobby classes at two local companies - &
I learned amazing new techniques that will continue to challenge me and make me better resulting in more tasty treats for you.

I do more than just cakes…

Here is some back story about me 🤍

I began cooking as way to stay sane when I was living north of the 53rd parallel in a very isolated community. I learned to make the food I missed out on enjoying because I lived so far away. I taught myself to make the things I loved to share with others. I don’t cook for praise or attention, I genuinely love sharing food with a crowd of people. I also cook when I’m happy, when I’m sad, as a way to cope and to teach. It’s one of my strategies. Sometimes things I make flop, sometimes they are spectacular. I’m still learning…it’s a process.

Last year I undertook the intensive process of croissant making inspired by a MasterClass episode by French Pastry Chef

In the fall, I was fortunate enough to visit his bakery in NYC & taste the real deal. Happy to say I think I did well in comparison.
