St Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church are
preparing for their Annual Ukrainian Easter Bazaar in Oakville. April 16th. Food lovers are advised to come hungry to experience a smorgasbord of Ukrainian
Homemade comfort food available for on­site dining or take­out. The event begins at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Parish on 300 River Oaks Blvd. E., (at
Trafalgar Rd) in Oakville. www.sjucc.ca
Pyrohy fans ­ we

feature a tried & true blend of potatoes, sauteed onions & cheddar
cheese ­ served with a dollop of sour cream. ­ we call BABA plate. DIDO plate ­ is a sausage served alongside a helping of kapusta (a special sauerkraut
which has been sauteed with onions). The KOZAK platter is our sampler /combo ­ cabbage rolls, with perohy, chicken­on­astick
(Patychky) and kapusta! Borshch (a National food of Ukraine) is served as a hot beverage with rye bread.
...now you must save room for
dessert. Of course you can start the day with a coffee & a Pampushok (Ukrainian
donut) filled with either plum, raspberry or custard filling. Beyond the food ­ another huge Easter Bazaar draw is an array of Exhibitors - Vendors - Crafters.

One day I washed a blouse and hung it to dry. I decided to do a quick sketch of it.
That is how the ’shirt on a hanger’ series began with ’Tamara’s shirt’.
From there I continued to draw a variety of embroidered items…blouses, pillows, towels, serviettes. Each drawing has a story….
