To our wonderful Buns on the Bay family, I want to share a little update. This year, Chelsea Buns will be available only on long weekends throughout the summer. Saturday July 4 (because July 1st is a Wednesday), Saturday August 1 and Saturday September 5. Taking orders starting June 29. $30 per loaf, $10 delivery by boat and details on pick up locations to follow.

It's been an incredible 5 years of baking for you. What started as a simple idea ...to add some joy through covid times ... grew into something much more meaningful because of your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm. Every bun sold, every kind word shared, and every smiling face has made the journey truly a fun one!

Thank you for helping me add a few extra smiles to the beautiful place we are lucky enough to call home. A place where we live, play, gather and make memories. While the baking schedule will be lighter this summer, I'm looking forward to seeing many of you on the long weekends and continuing the "Canadian Wild" chelsea tradition.

Here's to a wonderful summer ahead!

A pilgrimage to Partridges Of Kensington, home of the world.chelsea.bun.award. A most enjoyable meet with John Sheperd, the idea man behind this fun celebration of the beloved Chelsea Bun. Upside of my trip? I’ll be coming back next year for another attempt at the award. Congrats to the 2025 competition winners

Can I ask a favour please? For the past 2 years London, England has reached out with an invite to participate in the annual World Chelsea Bun Bake Off hosted by Partridge Foods and this year it takes place on Sept 27. I was actually planning to fly over to enter the taste competition 🙃 but knee surgery got in the way so I'm entering the instagram competition instead. First prize is a coveted apron (which I really really want) and bragging rights. So I've been out on the bay with my knee, my crutches and my husband (who has been cringing as he's watched the whole thing) to take some photos of beautiful Georgian Bay, the Canadian shield, the Bun Runner and of course a chelsea loaf. Peter Istvan Photography has been a wonderful help to fine tune several photos and ready them for instagram. Thank you Peter! And now the favour...I need to decide which one to submit and I'd really like your help! This year's competition theme is "traditional chelsea buns with a modern twist". I'm posting 3 different visuals with a bunch of different tag lines and would so appreciate your comments on which photo and tag you like best. Thank you everyone and wish me luck!! I'll let you know how it goes.

It's been another super summer at Buns on the Bay! Thank you everyone for making it so special, for your photos, and especially to Zoe for her wonderful artwork posted below. How cool to be part of Zoe's summer memories. 💕

I'm wrapping up Buns on the Bay! a little earlier than expected and am closed as of today. I'll be gone for the next two months and am looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Lucky us to be living on, playing in and sharing Georgian Bay. All good wishes,

As always, you can still order direct from us and have them delivered by the BunRunner 🚣‍♀️but these 3 iconic Georgian Bay stops might just be on your boating way! Quantities are limited so be sure to stop in early.
