we provide high quality, supportive residential and day programs which offer adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in, enjoy and be a part of, their communities. We currently operate resources in both Nanaimo and Parksville, which are providing opportunities for people to live in safe, healthy environments and access community recreational activities and gain assist

ance with vocational placements – based on each individual’s needs, wishes and aspirations. Since 1994 we have been providing supportive, inclusive programs that focus on the wishes and best interests of the residents, program participants and their support networks. Wherever possible we encourage and promote individuals in care and their families to be involved in setting goals, making decisions and planning to improve the individuals’ quality of life and their relationships.

🌸 A Victoria Adventure to Remember! 🌸

Sometimes the things that many of us take for granted—packing a bag, staying in a beautiful hotel, eating out, exploring somewhere new—can mean absolutely everything. ❤️

Recently, Barb shared that she hadn’t been on a vacation in many years, so we were thrilled to help change that!

Barb headed to Victoria for a 36-hour overnight adventure, accompanied by our wonderful staff member Nino, who helped make sure she could enjoy every minute of it. From visiting animal sanctuaries and exploring the beautiful Butchart Gardens, to staying in a swanky hotel and enjoying some great meals out, Barb packed a whole lot of living into those 36 hours!

And really, the pictures say it all. That smile. That joy. 🥰

At JGW Living, this is what supporting people is all about. It’s not only about meeting everyday needs—it’s about helping the wonderful humans we support experience the things they dream about, create memories, try something new, and live full, meaningful lives.

We’re so happy you finally got your vacation, Barb. It looks like Victoria treated you very well! ❤️

The agency has definitely grown accustomed to the Mountainview birthday party shenanigans! 🎉💃

For Alana’s big 50th birthday, we wanted to make it extra special, so we brought in dancers to celebrate with her, surrounded by her family and new friends.

But the best part wasn’t the entertainment — it was watching Alana. ❤️

Seeing her tapping her leg to the music, completely engaged, and looking like she might just get up out of that wheelchair and start dancing like the old days had her family watching with happy tears in their eyes.

These are the moments. The ones that remind us why creating opportunities for connection, joy, belonging and celebration matters so much.

Happy 50th Birthday, Alana! 🥳

Recently, Devyn and Taylor from our Applecross home enjoyed an amazing day exploring the North Island Wildlife Recovery & Education Center 🦅🌲🐻

There’s something pretty special about getting out into the community, experiencing nature up close, and making memories together. 💚

We’re also incredibly grateful for businesses and organizations that put accessibility at the forefront. Creating spaces where everyone can explore, participate, and enjoy everything our beautiful Island has to offer makes such a difference.
