Hello,
I hope you are doing well. Lucas is doing great in Fort McMurray and enjoying a new chapter along with his partner Michael. Although he is working full time at a pet store (his second love), he has begun taking orders again and has set up a spare room in their apartment to do just that. The most important thing is that he is happy.

I miss him terribly.

I haven't yet decided what to do with the business as a whole but there was one thing I wanted to keep alive. Lucas is the creative hands of the business, but I can bake a thing or two.

I am offering a selection of cookies & cakes in time for Christmas. They won't be the skillfully decorated sugar cookies he is famous for but I think they will make a tasty addition to your festivities.

Lucas moved out west almost three months ago and I miss him terribly. I'm still finding it really tough going down to the Frostyd kitchen and spending any time there. It makes me very melancholy and a little teary so I avoid it. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy for him and with my fibromyalgia in high gear, its been a good break. But I do miss it. I've taken up bread-making but only for myself and the boys. It takes alot of time but its oddly therapeutic!

Although I can't do what Lucas did, on occasion someone asks for a dessert and it makes me happy to do it. I've been experimenting with diferrent flavours for my Bundt cakes and taking them to the office for taste testing. Last week's cinnamon/oat caramel was a hit! Someone even said to me "that cake, that was the best thing I've ever tasted!"

This week I had the pleasure of making birthday mini bundts for a friend and repeat customer - her favs. are marble with chocolate ganache and skor bits. Happy Birthday Ms. E!!! It was a great reminder of how much I loved what we used to do!

My mother I started this business back in 2012, and in the past 12 years we’ve accomplished more than I could have ever imagine. We’ve done cakes for Hollywood movie sets, cakes for professional athletes, hundreds of cookies for high end designer brands, and so much more. We’ve built so many close friendships and you’ve all become part of our little family. It has truly been a pleasure being able to be a part of your special moments in life. It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce, as of today Frostyd will be closing up shop. Life has taken me in a new direction, one where I will have to leave this behind. I cannot begin to thank you all enough for all of the love and support you’ve shown us over the years. You’ve shown that 17 year old boy that he can do it and that he can accomplish his dream, and I couldn’t be more proud of the person that you all helped me become. And to my incredible mother (and business partner) thank you for absolutely everything you’ve done for me. From managing my emails, to staying up all night to help me finish, to cleaning up the disaster I made of our kitchen. There are no words I have to describe how grateful I am for you. This business will always be a part of who I am, it’s my passion and who I’m meant to be in this world. Thank you all, for everything.
