Welcome to Heaven’s Crust Sourdough Bakery, where we are Saved by Grace, and bake with Love.🤎
This all started back in September 2023 from a desire to go back to my roots and bake wholesome, healthy and simple food for my family without all the added harmful ingredients.
For years I studied sourdough recipes and followed several well-known bakers, dreaming of baking beautiful loaves for my family . I’m a hands on learner, so no matter how many recipes or videos you put in front of me, it wasn’t sinking in just how simple this could be (well, sorta.. 😋)
Finally, my daughter’s teacher and now good friend offered to show me the ropes. And as soon as my first loaf came out of the oven, I was hooked! Something clicked in me that I knew for so long was the Lord calling me to something. And it all made sense when I came full circle from a fed started to a fresh loaf.
Keep in mind, this loaf was a sad excuse for sourdough compared to what I bake now. 😅Thankfully, it always tastes good! So my family was fed throughout all the trials and errors.
Now, after months of feeding starters, rising dough and shaping boule’s, I can finally say with a humble heart that I am ready to offer this bread to you. Every loaf is a new journey, one I handle with tender care and love.
This is more than just baking bread for people, it’s about sharing something wholesome that your family can enjoy without worrying about what’s in it. There’s just 4 ingredients: flour, water, salt, and starter (made from flour and water).
But most importantly, this is about sharing my love of the gospel with people, so they may come to know Jesus, who is referred to as “the Bread of Life”. Through the sharing of bread may we all come to know His love.
In the book of Luke, chapter 22 verse 19 says:
“And He took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
At the Last Supper, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, and broke it. This was to signify His body that would soon be broken. The sacrifice of His body, a holy a sinless man, which was “given for you”, to pay the penalty for our sins. So we should give thanks and take of the bread in remembrance of Him.
Also, in the book of John, chapter 6 verse 25 says:
“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
Not only do we take in the bread in remembrance of Him, but also we must remember that Jesus is the Bread of Life. He is where we get our nourishment from. When you come to Him, you will never be hungry again because we have eternal life through Him.
I have never known a truth in my entire life more than this. It has changed my life in ways I cannot explain, and my hope is to share this with you. So not only will you have fresh bread to fill your bellies, but spiritual food for the soul.
“May the Lord Bless you and keep you”
