A little rain wasn’t going to stop us. 🌧️✨

Thank you to everyone who came out for our August Backyard Social and helped make it such a great night.

The weather may not have cooperated, but the backyard was still full of good people, good food, local makers, and some seriously good music.

A huge thank you to Jeremy Fox for the music, and to all the friends who joined him on stage throughout the evening. It was pretty special watching the backyard turn into a little social jam.

And thank you to all of our vendors, our team, and everyone who came by, grabbed a pizza, wandered through, pulled up at a picnic table, or just spent part of their evening with us.

This is exactly what we hoped Backyard Social could become. ❤️

New goodies are hitting the counter this weekend! ☀️🍑

We’ve got some fresh additions joining the pastry case:

🍑 Peach Upside Down Cake — caramelized peaches baked into a rich, tender cake
🫐 Fruit Oat Bars — buttery, crumbly, and packed with fruit
🥒 Toasted Coconut Zucchini Cake — moist and nutty, and I’m sure you haven’t had enough zucchini yet
🥮 Revamped Morning Bun Bread Pudding — made with our morning buns and given a serious glow-up
🍑 Peach Danish — sweet and savoury with a hint of balsamic and thyme

We’ve got some new things on the menu for next Monday, including Peach & Prosciutto Pizza, our Sweet Corn Crème Brûlée , and Loaded Nachos with mole rojo, sweet corn, poblano, cilantro crema, and vegan cashew cotija.

We’re getting ready for our next Backyard Social, and we’re excited to welcome another great group of local makers, growers, artists, and community organizations.

This month you’ll find:

🌱 3 Acre Permaculture — Permaculture education, plants, seeds, and plenty of inspiration for growing in harmony with the land.

✨ Hobby Acres- Stained Glass — Beautiful handmade stained glass and one-of-a-kind pieces.

🥕 Urban Roots — An urban farm growing organic produce right here in London while working to build a more sustainable and equitable local food system.

🌸 The Wandering Bee Flower Farm — Seasonal cut flowers grown on their farm and brought to the community.

📚 Bread & Roses Books — A local independent bookshop bringing a thoughtful selection of books to browse and take home.

🏺 Emily Kings — Handmade ceramics and unique pieces to take home.

👗 Nightingale Vintage — Vintage clothing and transitional pieces to take you into the next season.

🖨️ k crone — Prints, zines, buttons, and other original artwork and printed goods.

🌿 LIFE*SPIN — The organization that owns the building and property that we’re lucky to call home. They’ll be joining us with a kids’ craft activity run by their summer students! It’s a great chance to learn more about the work they’re doing in our community and help support it.

Meet the Vendors at our July Backyard Social! ☀️

We’re excited to welcome another incredible lineup of local businesses, makers, growers, and community organizations to this month’s Artisan Backyard Social.

This month’s vendors include:
🌸 Flynn’s Flowers – Beautiful locally grown flowers and seasonal bouquets.
🚲 Alex & Yoah Bike Repair – Bring your bike by for tune-ups and repairs while you enjoy the evening.
👗 Gypsy Moon Vintage – Curated vintage clothing, home décor, and one-of-a-kind finds.
🐞 Dauma Ceramics – Handmade ceramics crafted with care right here in our community.
🍦 Proof Line Farm – The local dairy farm that supplies the milk for every latte we serve. They’ll be bringing their handcrafted Gelato Pops for the perfect summer treat.
🧶 KS Pokes – Handmade crochet, jewelry, and beautifully engraved glass.
🌼 Pollinator Team – Learn about native plants, pollinators, and simple ways to create habitat in your own garden.

Vendor Spotlight: Proof Line Farm 🐄

One of the things we’re most proud of at Artisan is knowing exactly where our ingredients come from.

Every latte, cappuccino, flat white, and cortado we serve is made with milk from Proof Line Farm, a sixth-generation family dairy farm just a few minutes north of London. They bottle their own whole, non-homogenized A2 milk and are passionate about producing high-quality local food while caring for the land.

For this month’s Backyard Social, they’re bringing one of our favourite summer treats: their handcrafted Gelato Pops.

Made on the farm with milk from their own herd, these rich, creamy frozen treats are the perfect way to cool off while you enjoy your pizza, live music, and an evening in the backyard.

Non-Dairy Options will also be available.

We’re grateful to work with producers like Proof Line Farm and can’t wait for you to meet the people behind the milk that’s in every coffee and croissant we make.
