Visiting my Grammy Van in Nova Scotia I remember waking up to the amazing smell of her baking. Even now it brings a sense of home and comfort. The Old North Sconery & Market aims to bring a “little bit of home” to everyone in the community. Working at making your world a sweeter place to savour. For us, that means using local ingredients as much as we possibly can. All of our products are made fro

m scratch daily, and whenever possible, we source local, organic ingredients. We believe food can and should both taste and look beautiful. We Support Buying Local. We know the importance of supporting our local community. This is an integral part of our philosophy in our support of local growers and producers, as well as local community organizations. Our wide selection of products are baked fresh daily. Check in often to see what we have available that day.

We take quality control very seriously here. 😋 Rigorous testing is essential. ☺️☕️ Our bread pudding replaces French toast. It’s in the freezer ready to reheat or come get a slice and we’ll warm it up for you.

Hot or cold we use Genuine Tea from Toronto. Genuine Tea uses tea bags that are plant based, biodegradable pyramid tea bags. Non-GMO and free from harmful chemicals.

Meet Marilyn. Marilyn and her husband Stephen have been visiting us at least once a week since our early start up days in Arva years ago. Recently we’ve taken on her recipe for bran muffins! They’re delicious!
Marilyn and Stephen brighten our day with their smiles and presence here. They keep us going, doing the best we can for our customers each and every time we unlock our doors in the morning even when the day seems impossible. This type of business is not an easy one!
